Booking Procedures

We are always happy to assist you in selecting the equipment and services that you require, our normal office hours are 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday.

We request that bookings are made as early as possible since this makes it much easier for us to meet your requirements, especially at busy times. Bookings are accepted by telephone, email or through the wishlist / request a quote functionality of this website. Note that equipment and staff time will not be reserved until written confirmation of the booking is received. All bookings are subject to the JS Stage & Event Services Terms and Conditions of Business.

Responsibility for hired equipment – loss, theft, damage
During the hire period the customer is responsible for all aspects of security and care of the hired equipment. Any damage caused to or loss of the hire equipment during the hire period must be paid for in full by the hirer including any consequential costs incurred by JS. Delivery / collection and equipment set-up, operation and get-out
All prices quoted do not include delivery, collection, set-up, operation or get-out of hired or sales equipment unless specifically stated. If you require any of these services please let us know and we will be happy to quote for them.

Accepted Payment Types
JS only accepts payment by cash, cheque or online transfer.

All equipment is for indoor theatrical or event usage unless otherwise agreed. Outdoor applications must be identified as such at time of booking with the customer taking full responsibility for weather protection, security and safety. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure that all equipment is used in an appropriate and safe manner.

Spare Lamps
Hired lighting equipment will be supplied with spare lamps where appropriate. These must be returned whether used or not. Any blown lamps must be returned for inspection. The hirer will be charged for any missing lamps.

Cancellation of bookings – Hire, Sales and Services
Until written confirmation of a booking has been received by JS it will be considered provisional and the customer may cancel the booking without charge. Once a booking has been confirmed the following cancellation charges will apply:

Hire order cancelled...
8 days or more before the hire commences:   No charge
7 days to 3 days before the hire commences:   75% of the hire value
2 days or less before the hire commences:    100% of the hire value

Sales order cancelled...
Any time after confirmation for non stock items:   100% of sales value

Services order cancelled...
14 days or more before the services are due to be provided:  No charge 13 to 8 days before the services are due to be provided:  75% of services value
7 days or less before the services are due to be provided: 100% of services value

Modifications to an existing hire order may be made at any time up to the day before the commencement of the hire period without penalty, so long as the hire value of the order does not fall below 75% of its value at the time the order was first confirmed.

Hire Rates and Discounts
All hire prices stated on this website are for a rental period of either 1 day, 2 days / weekend or 1 week. Please contact us for pricing of longer hires. Special terms apply to the 1 week rate for theatrical applications. For theatrical users it is common that equipment set-up will take place on a Sunday (day 1), the show will run for a week, ending on Saturday night (day 7) and the get-out will be on the Sunday (day 8). Since our office is normally closed at weekends customers whose circumstances are as above will be allowed to collect equipment on the Friday before the set up and return it on the Monday after the get out whilst still only paying the 1 week rate.
